Iced Tea Lemonade

I’ve never been a tea drinker but I recently tried the Tazo shaken iced tea lemonade from Starbucks and fell in love…with the taste, not the price 🙂

I set out to try making my own and got it right on the FIRST try! It’s a great, healthy, low-cal (as long as you don’t use too much lemonade) summer beverage!

Shopping List

  • Tea Bags (I used Lipton Peach Mango White Tea, 20pk from Walmart) $3.50
  • Prepared Lemonade (I used Generic Walmart Lemonade) $1.50

Total Cost: ~$5.00

Cost Comparison

This recipe works out to around 20-25 cents per glass depending on how much lemonade you use! The Starbucks version costs around $4 each and you can get upwards of 20 glasses of this recipe for the same price!

20 x $4 each at Starbucks = $80

20 x $0.25 each at home = $5

That’s a $75 savings!!

Busy Momma’s Iced Tea Lemonade

Makes 4-6 glasses
3 tea bags (any flavour/brand, I prefer fruity ones)
8 cups boiling water
Splash of lemonade (to taste)
Ice cubes

  1. Soak 3 tea bags in 8 cups of water for a couple hours until it cools slightly (2-3 hours works for me)
  2. Remove teabags and store tea in fridge
  3. To serve, fill glass with a few ice cubes, the cold tea, and a splash (to taste) of lemonade

    1. Awesome Adrienne. I have a soda stream too but never thought to carbonate my tea! I might just have to try that for my next batch!

      Thanks for visiting 🙂
